ResQ, a call centre firm based here at Spectrum Business Park, has ramped up plans to create 1,200 North-East jobs after extending its presence in the region.

We are thrilled to see ResQ thriving here in their new North East office space and it’s great to see them expand to accommodate their new recruits.

ResQ bosses say the extension will allow the business, which has already delivered approximately 300 jobs and provides sales and support services for businesses across the digital, energy, retail and insurance sectors, to continue its voyage towards 1,200 posts.

The office space was officially opened yesterday by Councillor Edward Bell, chairman of Durham County Council and elected member for Seaham.

He said: “As someone who was born and bred in Seaham, I am delighted to see more jobs being created here.”

ResQ, which already runs a base in Hull, arrived in the North-East last year whereupon chief executive Nic Marshall told The Northern Echo it needed greater space to cater for companies returning work to the UK from abroad.

Referring to its latest expansion, Mr Marshall said: “We are delighted at the growth we have experienced since setting up here and we look forward to expanding even further in the future.”

Paul Wellstead, Developer of Spectrum Business Park, said: “ResQ moved into Spectrum Business Park only one year ago and it’s been fantastic to watch the company thrive and grow. We’re proud to have businesses like ResQ based here who are having such a positive impact and creating employment opportunities in the North East.”

The firm has been supported by Business Durham, Durham County Council’s business division, on its expansion.
