Seaham Garden Village has been approved

We’re thrilled to hear the plans for South Garden Village has been approved by Durham City Council!

The village located close by to Spectrum Business Park will accommodate 1,500 new homes, a central hub including health and wellbeing facilities, a community centre, restaurant, pub and village shop and post office.

Construction of the village could support up to 500 jobs during the build, with a further 300 at the site once it is complete.

Plans for an innovation hub to attract businesses and a “forest” primary school with sports facilities are also outlined.

During the build the Construction Industry Training Board will set up an academy at the site to provide apprenticeship and trade skills development for young people.

Paul Wellstead, the Developer of Spectrum Business Park said; “This is super news for Seaham and Spectrum Business Park, not only will it provide a great boost to recruitment but it will hopefully mean more Public Transport too which our tenants and their employees will benefit from greatly! We’re excited to see this unfold.”
